Welcome to Cedar Grove Psychological Services!

You've taken the first step in prioritizing your mental health, and I'm here to help guide you the rest of the way toward a happy, fulfilling life. I want to help you discover new possibilities, achieve your goals, and find workable solutions to life's challenges.

Let's Do This Together...

Get to Know Your Psychologist

Let's face it - life can be hard. Maybe you feel stressed, anxious, depressed, irritable, or overwhelmed by life's daily demands. Or maybe you are struggling to get your life back on track after a major setback, life transition, or series of bad choices. You are not alone! These are common life experiences that I am well-equipped to help you navigate.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience helping people find hope, discover their inner strengths, accept themselves for who they are, and develop confidence in their ability to overcome life's challenges.

It's great to meet you!

What can you expect from me?

It's simple. A compassionate, yet practical and direct approach to meet you where you're at and help you get unstuck.

While I understand that trust takes time, I believe therapy is a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share and explore life experiences so that together we can move past your obstacles and celebrate your triumphs.

My goal is to help you clearly identify your problem, explore factors in your life that may have contributed to that problem, guide you in discovering the strengths and abilities you already possess to make positive changes, and teach practical new skills that you can begin using immediately to feel better.

"Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start."

I completed my doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in health psychology at Regent University in Virginia Beach, which included completion of a 1-year, full-time internship at Utah State Hospital - an APA-accredited internship site. I have experience working with diverse individuals in a variety of settings, including community mental health agencies, jails/prisons, psychiatric hospitals, assisted-living facilities, and private practice.

Other opportunities that have shaped my professional life include advanced training and experience in psychological assessment/testing with children and adults, program management, and court-ordered forensic evaluations.

Some of the presenting problems I have successfully helped individuals (like you!) overcome include depression, anxiety, life transitions, caregiver stress, end-of-life planning, relationship problems, stress of incarceration, managing recovery from severe mental illness (such as psychosis and bipolar episodes), and navigating a successful transition to the community after prison or psychiatric hospitalization.

I will help you find solutions and be a part of your journey as you discover new aspects of yourself that you didn't even know existed. Some people are nervous and unsure, afraid of being judged, or hesitant to open up when it comes to therapy. All of those reactions are completely normal. We will work through your fears together as you set the pace of therapy (with lots of encouragement and some gentle challenges from me to help you grow!).

Life is too short to remain stuck in the past or to allow anger, anxiety, and sadness to rule your life. We can work together to heal your emotional pain, successfully face life's challenges, and find meaning and purpose in all areas of your life - work, family, emotional, spiritual. I can help you become the person you were meant to be, regardless of where you're at on life's journey.
